I’ve had the privilege of photographing Sixty6 Acres from almost the very beginning — first arriving with my camera before the accommodation had even been built, when some of my earliest subjects were the sheep, chickens and landscape that would eventually become part of the character of the property.

Set across sixty-six acres on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, the project has continued to evolve into a luxury rural destination. Over the years I’ve documented that evolution through its many stages — from the original accommodation and cabins to the Acreage cottage, luxury Farmhouse and, most recently, the new restaurant and bar, recreation spaces and magnesium plunge pools.

Throughout the project I’ve collaborated closely with my dear friend and Executive Stylist Belle Hemming Bright, whose creative hand can be seen across the property. Belle’s involvement has encompassed everything from colour palettes, spatial layouts and styling to the selection of furniture, artwork, crockery and the smallest finishing details.

For me, long-term projects like this are particularly rewarding. Rather than arriving only to photograph a completed space, I’ve been able to watch Sixty6 Acres take shape, understand its evolving visual language and document the atmosphere and details that have given the property its identity along the way.

From sheep and chickens to magnesium pools — it’s been quite the transformation.
